The Hightone phone from Samsung is not the smartphone you would expect. It looks good and it will work well but it won’t amaze you. Its most important specs are a 2 megapixel camera with video recording capability, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Stereo Bluetooth with audible caller ID, speaker-independent voice recognition and up to 8GB of memory space. Not too fancy but still good enough!
The phone comes in red or blue and Sprint is going to pick it up and deliver it to the crowds. That’s going to happen sometime soon for a price that’s definitely be more than affordable as long as you pick a plan to go with it.
Wait a minute just there folks, in case you see the Hightone displayed around various sites, you should be aware that it looks awfully familiar with the Samsung Highnote which we covered in October. It has the same specs, it has the same pictures and it comes from Sprint for $99.99 after $50 mail-in rebate and with a 2-year contract. So there’s no new mid-range Samsung phone out there called the Hightone is it?
