The Samsung Galaxy S has been a highly sought after device ever since Samsung officially announced it some time ago. With its Super AMOLED display, 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and, of course, Google’s Android operating system, what’s not to love?

Despite appearing on websites like Amazon.com, there has been no way to officially purchase a Galaxy S if you’re here in the United States as no carriers have come forth to officially announce its availability. Luckily, 5 major American carriers (Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, US Cellular and Sprint) have come forth today to announce that they will in fact be carrying the phone all sharing different names.

AT&T’s version of the Galaxy S will be called the Captivate, US Cellular’s will be called the Galaxy S, Sprint’s will be the Epic 4G, T-Mobile’s will be called the Vibrant and finally, Verizon’s will be dubbed the Fascinate. Will you be picking up a Galaxy S and if so, for which carrier?
