I am glad to see that Safelink is successfully expanding and reaching new people in different parts of the country that could really use this plan. I read about this program about a month ago and then found out it wasn’t available in my area (Champaign-Urbana) because it had not been made available in Illinois. Now that it is available to me, I definitely plan to apply. I really just need the phone for emergencies and to keep in touch with my parents who are in Chicago. Money is a little tight right now, and even with my part-time job, it is not easy to get by, even for a student. 68 minutes is more than i need per month, so this will work out great. Fingers crossed that I qualify.
