We haven’t talked about the Omnia in a long long time. I was expecting more of it. Not that it’s not a great phone, but in light of recent released touchscreen phones, I’d pass on the Omnia to get a new HTC or the Storm.
However, it looks like Verizon is going to pick up the Samsung this year. A rebate document shows a $70 rebate valid through November 15th. Is Samsung getting ready to enter the U.S. market in time for Santa?

[...] Verizon Wireless has just leaked a document which shows some of the smartphones Verizon Wireless is getting ready to launch. What’s so interesting about it you ask? Well how about a Samsung Omnia? That’s right, one of the best touchscreen phones from Samsung, is set to arrive from Verizon. [...]
I just got an email from a trusted Big Red source…the Omnia will be available online on November 19th and in stores December 1. I just discovered this phone 10 days ago and I am fiending for it. I had been on the htc touch pro tip for 4 or 5 months until I checked one at a Sprint store here in Michigan…Great phone, but the screen size is disappointing…my htc 6800 has a bigger screen. Needless to say, I want that Omnia and I’ll camp outside the Big Red store November 30 to be the first to get it..sweeeeeeeet!
Where did you get your info from Jeff? Nothing on the site and the store knows nothing about it (no surprise there). Is there an update we should know about? How bout $? Thanks.
