The TomTom 7 hasn’t been officially released but apparently a certain number of HTC Touch Diamond have this version of the popular European GPS service. Why not all of them? Why hasn’t the TomTom7 been officially released?
In the video above you get to see for yourself how the TomTom 7 should work once installed on the Touch Diamond. It doesn’t look all that bad. I wonder if this was the version coming to the iPhone too. We might never know how it would have performed.
As far as what people had to say about the unofficial TomTom 7 we’ve found good and bad opinions. Although it brings improved traffic information with new maps available, the TomTom 7 doesn’t bring that many new features, besides some UI tweaks. There’s also an improved interface for VGA and automatic zoom which can be enabled and disabled but there’s no improvement on route calculation and no TMC support. But then again there’s good and bad in everyone of us, so gadgets and applications will never be perfect.
So TomTom guys, care for an official explanation?
