We’ve been waiting to see when Russia and China were going to pick up the iPhone 3G. It seems that Russia is going to get the iPhone in 2009. Officially that is, as there are almost half a million unlocked iPhones already there.
This news started from Yevgeny Butman which is Moscow’s director of Apple IMC, the official Apple reseller in Russia. There aren’t any confirmed reports from local carriers. Megafona, one of the Russian carriers, has confirmed it’s negotiating with Apple but there’s nothing official yet to point out that they are going to sell the iPhone 3G.
We should expect even more iPhones 2G and 3G to be unofficially sold in Russia until anything official happens.
