Stop the presses people! It appears there’s a new generation iPhone coming our way! Well actually that’s not exactly news since we are all expecting for that to happen.
Senior manager of Apple’s chip team, a certain Wei-han Lien has thought about sharing his job description on LinkedIn. He’s profile says he is currently in charge of the ARM CPU architecture team for the iPhone. Since both iPhones so far have their particular ARM processors ready we would assume that he should be managing the ARM processor for the next generation iPhone. If that’s all true, someone is going to get in trouble for sharing all that info all of a sudden… Oh and Mr. Wei-han Lien, please tell them about the copy paste thing. I know it’s not your domain since you are managing the ARM CPU architecture team but you might give it a try!
So is Apple getting custom chips for its new generation of iPhones? Are they getting them from the P.A. Semiconductor company they have purchased? The company is said to be able to make powerful, cheap and energy saving chips. Hmmm, longer battery life you say?
