Fortunately this is not a post announcing a new Eee product from Asus. We’ve gotten tired with those anyways. This is a post announcing a future upgrade of the ‘classic’ Eee laptop line. According to an Asus birdie, which chose to keep its identity undisclosed, the Eee has big plans for the European market.

Asus Eee PCs for the European union will come equipped with HSDPA/HSUPA for 3G connectivity. That’s a step up. For Eee to be the complete portable smart device to carry around at all times, 3G connectivity is a must. That means more time online should you choose to purchase an unlimited data plan from your favorite carrier.

Since this is all coming from inside Asus, it might turn out to be true. We’ll just have to wait for a while for more details. We don’t know when the first 3G Eee PC will be released and how much it will cost. Hopefully they will remain as affordable as they are now, but I am sure so many people wouldn’t mind paying for a 3G upgrade.
