HandHeld Entertainment has just announced its new line of ZVUE portable media players. Improving on a previous design, ZVUE is introducing two new players that feature landscape view and removable storage.

The ZVUE 400 features a 3.5-inch QVGA LCD that supports video playback of up to 30 frames per second, 512MB on onboard memory, expandable via Compact Flash and SD/MMC card slots. The device supports only WMV and WMA files.

THe ZVUE 500 shares the same features as the ZVUE 400 except that it is WiFi capable and has a capacity of 1GB on on board memory. Users will be able to download media files from any hotspot.

The ZVUE 400 is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2006 while the ZVUE 500 goes on sale in the second quarter for $225 and $300 respectively.
