Zune.net goes live

Microsoft is welcoming everyone to the social with the launch of Zune.net which went live late last week. Zune is Microsoft's "iPod killer" set for a November 14, 2006 launch. The device's main selling point against the iPod is its ability to share full-length audio or pictures wirelessly from Zune to Zune.
But don't think its as easy as that...fine print on the website says..."The Zune to Zune sharing feature may not be available for all audio files on your device, and works only between Zune devices within wireless range of each other. This feature allows recipients to play full-length sample tracks up to 3 times in 3 days. Recipients cannot re-send music that they have received via the sharing feature."
Anywhow, full specs and a photos are now available on the site, which as of the meantime is just a promotional teaser of some sorts. Beginning November 14, software for the Zune will also be available for download.
Other sections on the site include, social, artists and accessories. Expect a lot of content once the Zune hits stores next week. The 30GB Zune is priced to match the 30GB iPod at $249.
