Microsoft Zune

The Microsoft Zune digital media player and its online service, the Zune Marketplace, will be available to customers in the US on November 14, 2006. Equipped with a 30GB hard drive and big 3.0" LCD screen that works in both portrait and landscape modes, the device features an integrated FM stereo receiver as well.

Using Microsoft Points, users can purchase individual tracks. The points system is something like a pre-paid phone card, and they can be redeemed at other online offerings from the company, including the Xbox Live Marketplace. A single track costs 79 points under this system.

A Zune Pass lets you access unlimited songs for $14.99 per month. A gamut of accessories (to be purchased separately) will also be offered along with the player.

Zune retails in at US $249.99, and is available in black, brown and white. A whole load of pre-loaded content is available on the device.
