MicroMemo.jpgIn time for the MacWorld Conference and Expo, XtremeMac has announced a new voice recorder for the 5th Generation iPod with video. The device called the MicroMemo utilizes the iPod's high fidelity audio capabilities to record 16-bit audio. You can eithe ruse the included microphone or any compatible microphone with a 3.5mm plug.

The MicroMemo features a microphone with a flexible neck that comes in handy with a variety of recording tasks. It connects via the Dock connector at the bottom of the iPod, and includes a built-in speaker for instant headphone-less playback. The device runs on the iPod's battery.

The device is said to be the first peripheral that takes advantage of the iPod's high fidelity recording capability. Previous iPods could only record 8-bit mono audio. The MicroMemo will start shippin in the late Spring 2006 for $79.95. For more information visit XtremeMac.
