Security Concepts WorldTracker SMSSomeone had to do it. This time, it's Security Concepts with its new WorldTracker SMS, a highly portable hardware/software combo which can be carried or attached to a vehicle or package. The device then sends out detailed reports of the routes traveled - great for security or QC purposes but raises new privacy issues.

The WorldTracker SMS featuers SiRF Star III technology for better reception be it outdoors, indoors ro through metal, while a WASS enabled receiver provides GPS signal corrections through its entire path. They claim an accuracy of three meters almost 95% of the time.

Tracking is simple: just receive the SMSs sent out by the device on a cell phone - no computer or other software is required. And the interesting part? It uses 3D mapping technology from Google.

The package includes a pre-activated SIM card. Website tracking access is available at a cost of US $89.95 per year. Other charges include $39.95 per month for 300 SMS messages or $59.95 per month for unlimited messages. www.trackingtheworld.com. via Gearlive
