ViaMichelin X-980T

Well, what do they know? Just a couple of days ago, we saw that the ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T got approved by the FCC, and already its out in the wild in Europe. Of course, the FCC approval is relevant only when it needs to enter the US market.

Features include a large 4.3" touch screen at 16:9 wide-aspect ratio with 480x272 pixels resolution. We will also be seeing a much-expected convergence of GPS navigation devices and Bluetooth hands-free for your cell phones.

With the bundled Content Manager (PC only, no mention of Mac support), you can import addresses from your PC to the Navigation X-980T. Traffic information can also be accessed on this PND.

Weighing in at 260 grams, the ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T is available for €699 (about US $880 as of this writing) starting mid-October 2006. No info yet on when it will hit the US.
