Verizon Wireless CDM 8945 Cell PhoneVerizon Wireless has launched the third cell phone to support V Cast Music, the new Verizon CDM 8945. It joins the LG VX8100 and the Samsung SCH-a950, as the third phone to support the V Cast system. In case you are wondering what V Cast is all about, it's a system that allows users to download music and digital audio from the Internet to their mobile phones, using a computer as a gateway. It's very similar to how you would use a portable music player. The phone also supports Video on Demand.

The Verizon CDM 8945 features dual full color LCD screens (176 x 220 pixel screen with 262K colors), a built-in camera with flash that also functions as a video recorder, speakerphone, EV-DO broadband capability, and Bluetooth. There is a TransFlash expansion slot as well. The CDM 8945 is quite compact measuring in at 3.5(H) x 1.9(W) x 0.9(D) inches and weighs about 4 oz. Talk time is a decent 210 minutes and standby time is at 210 hours. It's finished in a gorgeous shade of black.

Verizon Wireless is selling the Verizon CDM 8945 for $129.99 with a 2-year contract. The music essentials pack which includes software, sync cable, and headphones is being sold separately for $29.99. You can buy it now off the product website.
