Verizon Wireless will be the only network to support the Casio G’zOne Type V cell phone. This phone can withstand rigorous outdoor conditions, and is definitely designed for those who are either in the military or love the outdoors.

For example, the G’zOne can withstand temperatures in excess of 140 degrees Fahrenheit, as well as solar radiation. It looks like rain is also not a problem, as this phone can withstand rainfall 2 inches per hour with a 40 mph wind. In fact, you could even submerge it in a meter of water for about a half-hour. In addition to all this, the G’zOne phone also withstood many drops, as well as a vibration test. This phone looks as durable as your old AT&T princess.

The Casio G’zOne is also outfitted with several features, including access to the Verizon Get It Now store. However, most outdoorsmen (and women) will probably appreciate the VZ Navigator the most. This tool includes mapping, audible turn-by-turn navigation and access to information to 14 million point of interest.

Other features include the V CAST Video, which allows you to download video clips as well as games right to your phone. The phone is also Mobile Web 2.0 capable, which will allow you access to the latest in news, sports, weather, and entertainment. Mobile IM also allows you to send and receive instant messages via AOL Instant, and it also has text messaging options. Other options include voice-activated dialing, speakerphone, calendar, address book, calculator, notepad, and stopwatch.

The Casio G’zOne also includes a 2.0 Megapixel camera, capable of taking still shots as well as 15-second FLIX videos. You can send and receive these pictures and videos with the PIX and FLIX option.

The G’zOne Type-V should be available soon at Verizon Wireless for about $299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement.
