Two New Power Solutions for iPod
Once again, XtremeMac has figured out ways for its IPod users to get more power. This time, it favors those who travel worldwide. Now available are the InCharge Traveler global charging kit and the Micropack portable battery and media dock.
The InCharge Traveler is designed for those who travel overseas. If you’re going to Europe, for example, you can use the InCharge on any outlet, and it will automatically adjust for 120 or 240 volts. As you go along in your car, you can use the 12V charger on the lighter. You can even recharge on the plane ride with the Empower adapter. All these chargers and four different adaptors come in a soft travel pouch.
The MicroPack is designed with a Lithium Polymer battery that can carry 80 hrs of audio play time, or 8 hours of video play time. The MicroPack can be recharged from any iPod charging station, and can sync and charge the iPod with Apple USB or FireWire cable. It comes with a carrying case, along with dual headphone jacks with individual volume control. So if you’re on a long flight with someone else, just put your iPod in its MicroPack between the two of you and enjoy the music or video!
These new products sound like good news for travelers who don’t want their iPod batteries to run out. The only snag would be that these products are so new, they might not be recognized by airport security. In an age where liquids are being confiscated, these products might be under scrutiny as well. So as you go through security, expect your InCharge Traveler or MicroPack carrying case to be inspected!
The InCharge Traveler is about $79.95 and can be viewed at the product’s website at: http://www.xtrememac.com/chargers/incharge.php.
