prod_satU205_300x300.jpgThe company today launched two new 4.1 thin (a first for Toshiba) ultra-portable notebooks. Both the Satellite U205-S5002 and Satellite U205-S5022 are around 1.34-inches slim and includes LifeSmart Technology which enhances the overall features, protects the HD, includes a spill-resistant keyboard, and has fingerprint security.

The Satellite U205-S5022 is powered by the Intel Core Duo Processor(5) T2300E and has storage a capacity of 100 GB. While the U205-S5022 is powered by the Intel Core Duo Processor(5) T2400 and has a 120 GB HD.For multitasking and avoiding computer lags Toshiba has incorporated 1024MB DDR2 533 MHz SDRAM memory and users will also dig the onboard a DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive that reads and writes in up to 11 formats. The notebooks offers true mobility not only because of its dimensions but also because of its 12.1-inch diagonal widescreen TruBrite(TM) LCD display.

The Toshiba Satellite U205 notebooks uses the Microsoft Windows XP Professional as its operating system and there is the Toshiba Express Media Player which lets you instantly access DVDs or CDs with the push of a button on the PC chassis without having to boot the Windows operating system. The Microsoft Office OneNote(TM) 2003 software is also included in the models which lets you organize, find and share notes gathered from e-mail, meetings, presentations, classes, the Web and other sources.

Toshiba has also thrown in all other mandatory features which are cornerstones of any good PC. These features include, Integrated Intel PRO/Wireless(8) Network Connection, 5-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter, 3 USB v2.0, RGB, RJ-11 modem, RJ-45 LAN, i.LINK IEEE-1394, headphone and microphone ports. The Satellite U205-S5002 is available for $1,199 and the Satellite U205-S5022 for $1,349.

Some Features:

-- 1024MB DDR2 533 MHz SDRAM memory(7) for better performance of productivity applications and music, picture and video multimedia files;

-- 5-in-1 bridge media adapter for easy file sharing and download;

-- Toshiba Express Media Player that lets users instantly access DVDs or CDs with the push of a button on the PC chassis without having to boot the Windows operating system.

"Students on-the-go and small business professionals will find the advanced security and durability features a big plus when toting this ultra-portable notebook computer from class to class or to a business meeting," said Jeff Barney, vice president of marketing for Toshiba's Digital Products Division.
