Toshiba U200 - Ultra Portable Laptop
Looks like Toshiba has rediscovered its love for ultra mobile 12 inch notebooks. After the Tecra M6, the company has gone ahead and released another 12.1 inch ultra portable notebook, the Toshiba Satellite Pro U200.The U200 series has a very compact form factor and weighs about just 4.1lbs and is just 1.4 inch thick. However Toshiba assures that the new Toshiba U200 notebooks are extremely durable thanks to its ultra-strong, magnesium alloy chassis. For protecting the notebook from harmful effects the U200 features a shock-absorbing design. It includes air pocket cushioning and padding to protect essential components like the HDD, LCD etc. For further protection Toshiba has also thrown in a spill resistant keyboard.
The Toshiba U200 can be configured according to one’s personal requirements and one can opt for a Celeron, a Centrino or a Core Duo/Solo processor. It includes the Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition OS and comes with a standard 256MB PC4200 DDR2 533MHz SDRAM (256MBx1). For a better visual experience Toshiba has incorporated a 12.1" Diagonal Widescreen XGA TruBrite™ display (1280x800) and an Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with 8MB-128MB dynamically allocated shared graphics. The Toshiba U200 includes a 40 GB HD which of course can be expanded. It lacks a wireless card (you have to pay extra) and includes a CD-RW/DVD-ROM Multifunction drive.
