At the CES show 2007 in Las Vegas this week, Toshiba is demonstrating its new Qosmio(TM) audio-video notebook computer with integrated HD DVD-R optical drive, the first notebook computer with the ability to burn HD DVDs. With the integration of the HD DVD burning capabilities, users can now burn up to 30 GB of data onto single HD DVD recordable disc. The HD DVD drive also plays HD DVD movies at a resolution six times sharper than a traditional DVD format.

The Toshiba Qosmio is also loaded with the new Windows Vista software, and pushes the entertainment envelope even further by incorporating an HDTV tuner, which allows you to receive high-definition television on the notebook computer.

A prototype of the new Qosmio with integrated HD DVD-R will be shown at the CES show in the Emerging Technology section of Toshiba's booth. Pricing, availability, specific model number and configuration for the Qosmio with integrated HD DVD-R will be announced in the first quarter of 2007. Photos have not yet been released of the product.
