Toshiba R25-S3513 Satellite Laptop
One of the latest additions from the Digital Products Division (DPD) of Toshiba America is the Toshiba R25-S3513 convertible notebook featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. With the R25-S3513, you can either use it as a conventional notebook with traditional keyboard or simply rotate and fold the screen down to use it as a tablet PC. A digitizer pen included can be used to handwrite notes, draw, edit copy or write e-mail and many other operations.
Perhaps the most noticeable thing is the large 14.1-inch diagonal widescreen TFT active-matrix LCD which can display images at a staggering 1440x900 native resolution (WXGA+). When in tablet PC mode the screen roughly simulates the writing area of a standard 8.5- by 11-inch sheet of paper, providing ample space for note taking and provoking enough to ignite some drawing skills in you. Starting at 5.95 pounds, the tablet PC comes loaded with Microsoft Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 operating system.
Based on the Intel Core Microarchitecture, you can multitask at will with the IntelCore 2 Duo Processor T5200 running upto clock speeds of 1.60GHz with 2MB shared L2 cache memory and 533MHz FSB. This in turn is backed by a 1024MB PC4200 DDR2 SDRAM memory and includes 5-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter. The secondary storage includes 100GB (5400 rpm) Serial-ATA (SATA) hard disk and DVD SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) drive supporting 11 formats. On the connectivity side it gets Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection 3945ABG (802.11 a/b/g), USB2.0 (4 ports), LAN, RJ-11 modem port, and i-LINK.
The Toshiba's exclusive LifeSmart Technology ensures for durability and security with shock-absorbing technologies. It includes Toshiba Hard Disk Drive Protection System, a spill-resistant keyboard, and an integrated biometric fingerprint reader. Other additional features include zooming utility and FN shortcut keys and wireless on/off switch, enabling and disabling the integrated wireless LAN (Wi-Fi).
The new Satellite R25-S3513 is currently available from major consumer electronics and computer stores nationwide and has an estimated single unit price (ESUP) of $1,499.99.
