We recently did a entry about these Toshiba flash-based DAPs, but they were the Japanese versions, the USA verisions are called the Toshiba MEP-05FR And Toshiba MEP-10FK. The MEP-05FR comes with 512 MB of available storage and the comes MEP-10FK with 1GB of storage.

Both players are offered in trendy designs for those wanting a dash of fashion to go with their portable audio players. Audio formats supported include WMA, MP3 and WAV. On the 1.1" OLED (Organic LED) color screen, you can even view JPEG images. You also have an FM receiver, so if you run out of your supply of songs on the limited memory, you can always tune in to your favorite radio station.

A voice recorder is included to take down voice memos quickly (I use my cellphone for this... but that's just me, I guess). When the player is not in use, the device can display three different clock designs (ho-hum). The battery life is really good at 14 hours.

Expected for a Jan 2006 release, the Toshiba MEP-05FR is priced at US $129, while the Toshiba MEP-10FK is priced at US $179. More information is available from Toshiba's website.
