Thomson electronics have launched a new MP3 Player which if not for performance then certainly for the name will go down in history. Seriously, a name like Thomson Lyra PDP2662S makes the iPod so much more tempting guys! However on a serious note the new MP3 Player is not bad and it is a great option for sport fanatics all over.

The new Thomson Lyra PDP2662S will get a lot of takers as the player is water proof but that doesn’t mean you hop in the shower or take a dive with it ! The player also displays vital information like calories burnt, pulse rate among others which will help you track your physical training. The only and may I say the biggest letdown is no doubt the meager 512 MB of disk capacity which makes me wonder what Thomson was thinking. For navigation Thomson has incorporated a joystick and the battery life is about 40 hours. So basically you can enjoy the same limited track set for over 40 hours (how exciting!). The Thomson PDP2662S is powered by AA batteries and is available for just 70 Euros(90 USD).
