Tatung V620 Portable Media Center
Tatung's latest Portable Media Center (PMC), the Tatung V620, comes in a square form factor and has a 3.5" wide viewing screen. It supports a maximum resolution of 320 X 240. It's compatible with the TiVo Series2 DVRs and also with Windows Media Center PCs. Battery life is quite decent at 20 hours of continuous audio and 5 hours of continuous video playback.
A glaring drawback of the V620 is the meagre 20GB of storage space inside the unit. How much can you fit into 20GB anyway? It's akin to stepping into the medieval ages. Toshiba's Gigabeat S offers up to 60GB and also features a FM tuner. Only time will tell if the V620 can ever manage to register on the sales charts.
