StreamerNet Brings Live Streaming for Smartphones and Handhelds
What's the next sign that confirms live A/V streaming onto mobiles is a neat idea? The Device-in-Hand streaming from StreamNet, targeted at consumers, governments and even enterprise users. Live audio and video streams from a remote camera can be accessed on a Windows Mobile-powered device.
If you're lucky enough to attend the FOSE government technology conference at Washington Convention Center between March 7-9, you can see the technology live in action. Probably the most striking difference between StreamNet and other streaming technologies is that it's a point-to-point streaming in an instant.
Setting up the streaming involves attaching a video camera to an Internet-enabled computer. From there, the audio/video can be watched on the viewer installed on a compatible device. Immediate uses that one can think of include security and in emergencies.
