Ah, rumors. Who can separate the truth from the fiction? And who wants to?

Take this recent tidbit over heard on Treocentral forums. Apparently, Sprint plans to offer the new Treo 750w for about $499.99, but with a $200.00 rebate. At least, that’s what it says on this ad from CompUSA.

Apparently, this ad has created quite a stir because it specifies that it uses EDGE/EVDO technology. However, Sprint has all their phones available on the EDGE network. Unless they made some EVDO switch we don’t know about, then it might be a mistake.

Well, hopefully the other features aren’t a misprint, like the 1.3 megapixel camera and Windows Mobile OS 5.

Time will tell if these rumors will be true.
