Sotec Japan announced their newest mobility notebook, the WinBook WE355 which boasts a 17-inch WXGA+ crystal display with supported resolutions up to 1440 x 900. WinBook WE355 powered by Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (SP2) and features Intel Celeron M 420 (1.60GHz), 512MB of RAM with maximum memory up to 2GB, 100GB HDD (Ultra-ATA) and super multiple DVD drive. On the surface, there is an integrated IEEE802.11b/g wireless LAN connectivity, IEEE1394 port, USB2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, D-Sub 15 pin, S-Video output, S/PDIF output, ExpressCard/54 slot, V.92 modem and memory card reader slot which is compatible only with SD, MMC and Memory Stick Pro.

It is available in two different models; WE355 which comes with pre-installed software StarSuite 8 or WE355B which comes with pre-installed Microsoft Office Personal Edition. The battery could last only enough time for a nice movie at 2.3 hours. It weight 3.7kg with the size of 394 × 287 × 39mm. WE355 will cost you 139,800Yen (USD1,219) and WE355B for 159,800Yen (USD1,393).
