The VAIO SZ2 series boast one of the fastest and the latest T2600 Intel® Core™ Duo processors around and comes with a full 1GB of 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM! This deadly combo means that multitasking and other activities are taken to the very next level. The Sony X-black LCD which contains two powerful lamps and is finished with a reflection-reduction layer also results in a superior display with sharper contrast and brightness. The notebook weighs about 1.68kg and the LCD is only 4.5mm front to back. Each machine is enclosed in nickel plated carbon fiber moldings and the casing is an excellent heat conductor.

The notebooks also include the Trusted™ Platform Module (TPM) hardware and fingerprint recognition to further protect the user data and enhance the overall security. The TPM checks for unauthorized changes to both hardware and software, acts like a built-in smart card, provides an exclusive ID and the TPM chip itself stores vital data like passwords and encryption keys. The notebook also has what Sony calls Stamina mode which basically switches graphics for better battery life as the SZ2-Series has two graphics processors.
