Sony® VAIO® VGN-S580 Notebook

Sony® VAIO® VGN-S580Sony has come out with a new VAIO: the VGN-S580. A power-packed slim delight, the S580 is driven by an Intel® Pentium™ M processor coupled with the speed of Serial ATA hard drive and DDR2 memory. The laptop casing is magnesium, thus making it durable, and provides for a sleek look.

Thanks to the incorporation of Sony's XBRITE™ 200 LCD technology, graphics appear extra crisp and clear from any viewing angle - so no more huddling around the laptop when you want to do a presentation or show off your vacation photos! The screen is a bit wanting at 13.3", but the keyboard more than makes up for it.

It's just 4.3 lbs (with battery), so you definitely won't feel that you are lugging it around. You can opt for either the integrated Intel 915GM graphics card, or take on an nVidia GeForce Go 6200 for great graphics. With memory being expandable up to 2 GB, this baby is a powerhouse.

The S580 also comes with integrated 802.11 b/g wireless LAN and is bundled with Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional.

More information is available at Sony's website.

I own it, and it is a magnificant computer, utterly amazing

Does it come with tv out, I have looked at the 3D model and I can't see one. Could be crucial to those users who might want to watch Divx etc..?

yes it looks cool I want one.

I own one as well and yes, it is "a magnificent computer." It is far and away the best, and best looking, laptop I have ever owned. the battery life is great, i love the built-in wifi, and the keyboard is great and the screen is awesome.

ggrant007, according to Sony's site, VGN-S580 has VGA out, but not S-video.
