VAIO_1_jpg.jpegSony realizes it cant sell its Vaio notebooks by cartloads just on the basis of its sleek notebooks and thus have incorporated the Intel Core Duo technology in its new line of VAIO F and AR notebook. Both the new series sport their trademark VAIO look and may I add the expensive price tag. But hey style doesn’t come cheap does it?

All the notebooks in the Sony F series would include; a 14-inch LCD with 1GB of RAM (max 2GB), 200GB of hard disk, an Intel graphic card and one can also opt for a digital TV tuner for recording, watching and pausing live TV. Thus looks like the F series would fit right in both home and office environments.

If the F series is all about work, the AR series is all about fun with its 17-inch screen (with a resolution of 1920×1200). This one would be suitable for the videophiles and dare I say gamers! One also comes across a 400GB of hard disk (2×200GB), a GeForce GO 7600 graphic card with 256MB of VRAM and a Blu-Ray DVD burner on the AR series. Some common features found on both the series include, 802.11a/b/g WiFi.

So what about pricing? Well its Sony so be prepared for something exorbitant! The AR would leave a considerable hole on ones pocket with its $US3400 price tag where the F series would go about $US2100. Both series would be launched on the 7th October.
