Sony Ericsson Announces Water-Proof SO902iwp Cell PhoneButterfingers? Dropped your phone more than once in the pool or (worse) the toilet? Fear not, for Sony Ericsson has heard you. And that's why they have made a water-proof phone especially for you. We bring you the Sony Ericsson SO901iwp (the "wp" being water-proof).

Hang on, don't throw out your underwater camera apparatus yet - the SO902iwp has a dismal 1.3 megapixel camera. Apparently the phone can stay up to 30 minutes under water, at a maximum depth of one meter. Sony Ericsson has put up a nice flash site (in Japanese) detailing the phone.

You gotta give credit for these guys. They just made a lot of people's lives easier - now they don't have to spend like crazy on a second phone. No idea on the pricing or when it will be hitting the markets. Stay tuned for The Whack in the upcoming days.
