Sony Unveils First VAIO Blu-ray Disc PCSo much has been happening in the Blu-ray Disc world of Sony today, that we had to include this non-mobile device in the mobile section today. Sony unveiled the world's first Sony Vaio RC204 Blu-ray Disc PC, a digital studio in its own right. With a unique fly-through design, air flow across internal components has been improved leading to quieter operation.

Paving way for HD (high-definition) environment on the desktop, the new Vaio gives you next-generation technology today for viewing, editing and storing HD videos. The Sony RC204 is powered by a fast 3.2GHz dual-core Pentium D processor 940. With NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT 256MB memory for graphics, you get a lot of processing power for anything - be it HD video editing or extreme games in 3D.

The integrated Blu-ray Disc drive (50GB double layer BD-R/RE) allows you to burn double layer discs with ease. HD-capable applications bundled with the RC204 include DVgate Plus 2.2 (get your HD movies to the hard disk!), editing with Adobe Premiere and of course Ulead BD DiscRecorder to burn your discs. For BD playback, there's always Intervideo WinDVD BD for VAIO.

The RC204 is also equipped with Sony's Sound Reality DSD - or Direct Stream Digital - audio processor for true-to-life sound playback and high quality recording capabilities. Under the hood, you will also find two massive hard drives in RAID 0 configuration for a total of 600GB storage.

Get the latest in audio/video mastering hardware. Access Sony for more details. The Sony VAIO RC204 runs Windows Media Center Edition.
