Sony's Portable Reader System, the PRS-500, is headed your way - whether you like it or not. It is now published on Sony Style, a sure-sign that the device will be out soon.

Personally, I'd like a book with pages that you can smell - ya know? Still, the reader has some goodies like:

• 6" SVGA 800x600 gray scale display with E Ink Display technology (although the gray scale thing turns me off)
• Internal memory with a slot for removable memory (Memory Stick storage media and, thankfully, SD Memory Cards)
• Approximately 7,500 page turns per battery charge
• Only 0.5" thin, it weighs 9 ounces
