Stop the press, we have some breaking news! The powers of be at Sony are all set to add an 8GB audio player to its highly popular Sony Walkman Series. The new Sony walkman titled NW-A1200 (what a catchy name!) will be the first Sony digital player to offer 8GB of disk space and has an impressive 20-hour battery life. On the looks department the new player has nothing exciting or new to offer and in fact is almost identical to other players in the Sony Walkman series. This player has been already released for the Japanese client-age and now it will see a worldwide release in June. Many are already anticipating a showdown between the Nano and the new player by Sony.

The player includes the SonicStage CP software, which also supports the AAC music format used by the iPod. So is Sony finally bowing down to iPod? Don’t know about but lets cut Sony some slack guys! The player in Japan costs around 250 pounds. Watch this space for more scoops regarding the new Sony Walkman.
