It's a bit late but anyway, Announced a couple of weeks ago at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show, Sony introduced two new speaker systems - a portable one and a desktop set.

The Sony MDS-60 desktop speaker set (left) comes in a compact form-factor at 54 x 120 x 200 mm dimensions and looks nice. While not many details are available on the speaker specs, the design is strikingly different from the MDS-70 desktop speaker which is presently available from Sony.

The Sony MPS-60 (on the right), measuring in at 30 x 55 x 42 mm, is actaully small enough to fit into your pocket along with your Sony-Ericsson and is an ideal travel companion. Sure, it's not the greatest of designs.

Like its desktop counterpart, the MPS-60 will be available in silver, orange and pearl white colors sometime during this quarter, although no pricing has been fixed.
