LFB20.jpgWith the release of three LocationFree devices, Sony Electronics has decided to focus on place-shifting, allowing you to watch videos that you receive at home from other locations such as the office or even a mobile electronic device. The LocationFree Base Stations LF-B10 and LF-B20 are designed to wirelessly download video files, while the LocationFree TV Box is for a wireless transfer of programs throughout all other multimedia devices throughout the house.

The LF-B10 and LF-B20 Base Stations are designed to work with any home entertainment center as well as a variety of mobile viewing devices. The setup is also easy with the built-in setup wizard to aid with installation. The LF-B20 can also serve as a wireless bridge that connects with an existing wireless home network. Both Base Stations feature Advanced Video Coding so you can experience video at less than optimal rates.

The LocationFree TV Box, designed to work with the aforementioned BaseStations, is an industry first, which can bring all the captured video content to a nearby area, such as around the house. It also features an on-screen remote for control at a distance.

All three of these products should be available in October 2006. The LF-B10 will retail at about $200, the LF-B20 at $250, and the LocationFree TV Box will be $230.
