Sony introduces new VAIO Laptops
Owners of Sony's VAIO series of laptops are a proud bunch. More often than not the VAIOs sport the state-of-the-art in notebook technology. Sony Japan carries on this tradition with the launch of two new laptop product lines: the VAIO VGN-FT and the VAIO VGN-SZ.
The FT series feature a built-in television tuner. You get to enjoy it on a large bright liquid crystal display (WXGA 1280 x 800) and with a stylish remote control. You can even record your favorite show on to the hard disk. The speakers on this unit are positioned to give a surround effect. The laptops run on Intel's dual core processors and the hardware is customizable to suit your budget. Sony's managed to pack everything into one ultra-thin package. The VGN-FT series is expected to go on sale from the 25th of January, 2006.

The VAIO VGN-SZ series features the latest in notebook technology. It runs on Intel's latest dual core processor series. For graphics you have nVidia's GeForce Go 7400 with a twist - there's a SPEED/STAMINA switch which you can set to get the performance you desire. With the switch set to SPEED you experience full graphics power in your 3D games and other video-intensive applications. Set the switch to STAMINA and you squeeze the max out of your battery. The casing is made out high-quality aluminium and carbon fiber. There is also the "VAIO hard-disk protection" mechanism to protect your data from accidental bumps. It too is an ultra-thin laptop. The VGN-SZ series is expected to go on sale from the 24th of January, 2006.
