Sony Hi-MD MZ-M100 Portable Recorder
Sony unveiled the new MZ-M100 Hi-MD - a portable recorder based on the Hi-MD media. The MZ-M100 is specifically designed for musicians and broadcast professionals whose jobs demand extremely high quality of audio during both recording and playback.
Like the MZ-M10, the Sony MZ-M100 relies on uncompressed PCM linear audio so that there is no loss of data when you record audio. It also boasts an impressive battery life for longer usage. The six-line large organic electro-luminescence display adds to the beauty of the product. Add to it the capability to record up to 94 minutes of high-quality audio (or 34 hours in ATRAC3 plus format) on a small 1GB Hi-MD MiniDisc (priced $7 even), and you have a neat combination.
Bundled with the MZ-M100 are an ECM-DS 70P stereo microphone, MDR-EO931 ear-bud headphones and rechargeable internal battery. A USB port is provided for transferring data to a PC or Mac. The recording formats supported include PCM linear, MP3 and ATRAC3/ATRAC3plus.
Priced at US $439.95, more info about the Sony MZ-M100 Hi-MD portable is available from Sony's website.
