Sony DSC-H5 7.2 Megapixel Digital Camera
Another baby for all you Sony DSC fans out there - Sony Japan is introducing the 7.2 (megapixel (effective) DSC-H5 with a Super HAD CCD. A high-intensity flash that can reach up to 16m - great for taking those night-time shots.
It's got a sweet 3.0" preview LCD, so Sony assures you constant joy whether you are taking pictures or showing them off. The lens offers a 12x optical zoom (equivalent of 36-432mm for a 35mm film camera). Hand-movement and subject-movement corrections are integrated too, so you can say goodbye to blurred photos.
High sensitivity, up to ISO1000 is supported by the DSC-H5, so even when shooting in dim light without a flash you get better quality images. With Sony's Clear RAW Noise Reduction technology, noise is reduced on the RAW data before compressing.
Out of all the features, I loved the 3.0" - heck, you can get a complete picture as well as verify composition accurately. Featuring a bright outer multilayer membrane, the LCD reduces reflection of light. Add to it a high-speed USB 2.0 interface and you know you will want to upgrade to the DSC-H5 when it hits the streets in May.
Pricing has not been announced, but details are available from Sony's website.
