Sony are having a ball out there today with so many press releases. Sony, today announced the debut of the Stylish and compact external Sony DRX-820UL DVD writer. This one though accompanies the new launched internal DVD drive model. The new DVD writer can be fixed either horizontally or vertically making it feasible to fit into small spaces and also a perfect companion for notebook users or PC. The DRX-820UL can be connected via High-Speed USB2.0 or IEEE1394 interface to any compact PC or notebook.

The DVD writer comes with an award winning Nero Software Suite, which also includes some cool tools like DVD authoring, audio editing and DVD back-up. Be it a DVD+R/RW or DVD-R/RW, this new one from Sony can do them at the speed of 5x and records DVD+R DL media at 8x speed, DVD-R DL media at 6x speed and single-layer DVD±R discs at 16x speed. DVDs marked as 'DVD+RW' can be recorded at 8x speeds and the ones marked as 'DVD-RW' can be recorded at 6x speeds. And also the DVD writer has 48x of CD speed.

The Sony DRX-820UL will be available from May 2006 at an estimated street price of 139 EURO. For more info-check out the Sony website
