FCC Approves Sony DCC-FMT50U Car FM Stereo TransmitterThe folks at the FCC have approved the Sony DCC-FMT50U, an FM stereo transmitter. After the zillions of FM stereo transmitters that came out as accessories to your iPod or other portable player, it's time for Sony to bring out their version of what an FM transmitter should be.

Featuring a USB connector and stereo mini plug, the Sony DCC-FMT50U unit allows you to connect a hard drive, flash memory, CD/MD Walkman or even your mobile phone if it sports a standard stereo jack. Allowing you to select the full FM range of frequencies from 88.1 MHz to 107.9 MHz, you can conveniently enjoy the music on your car stereo receiver.

What's more, it can store up to 4 frequencies in memory, so you can easily switch to a preset frequency at the touch of a button. No word on the pricing or availability. Details should be available on Sony soon.
