sony_dvdwalkman1.jpg Sony Japan has come up with the brilliant idea to merge their PMP and Walkman line, to give birth to the new DVD Walkman series. Sony has just unveiled the Sony D-VE7000S and DVP-FX810 portable DVD players which would carry the trademark Sony Walkman finish. While portable DVD players are available dime a dozen, it is always big news when a company like Sony is involved in it. Both players have designed to be truly portable and hip to appeal to all.

The first in line is the D-VE7000S which has dimensions of 19.3x13.6x2.79cm and weighs about 780g. It sports a 7 inch widescreen LCD (480×234 pixels) and to further enhance the multimedia experience comes with a high-powered speaker cradle with charging capabilities too. The player doesn’t support any kind of Blu-ray technology but plays DVD±R/RW, DVD+R/-RW DL and CD-R/RW (MP3 and JPEG) discs. Other features include dual headphone jack, Walkman headphones and Dolby Digital and DTS digital output to connect to a camera or TV.

The second DVD walkman by Sony is the DVP-FX810 which has a swivel and flips 8” Widescreen LCD Monitor (480 x 220) and supports formats like DVD±R/RW, DVD+R/-RW DL, CD-R/RW, MP3 and JPEG files. There is built in Dolby Digital Decoder and 2 channel Virtual Stereo output and the unit measures 226 x 160 x 32.4mm approximately.
The DVP-FX810 will be available by May for price of $ 300 and so would the D-VE7000S.
