Sony CyberShot W70 and W100 Digital Cameras
Sony has also announced two new digital still cameras in popular the W-series, the Sony CyberShot W70 and the Sony CyberShot W100. The two cameras feature higher resolution and higher sensitivity together with Sony's anti-blur technology.
Let's tackle the W100 first. The CyberShot W100 is a 8.1 megapixel camera featuring a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x Optical Zoom lens, a 1/1.8-inch Sony Super HAD CCD, 6x Precision Digital Zoom, and 15x VGA Smart Zoom. The ISO range extends up to ISO1250 for very high sensitivity. There's also 64B onboard for quick storage.
The Sony CyberShot W70 is a 7.2 megapixel camera that is also equipped with the Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x Optical Zoom lens. It is powered by a 1/2.5-inch Sony Super HAD CCD and is capable of 6x Precision Digital Zoom and 14x VGA Smart Zoom. ISO range drops to a maximum of ISO1000. Onboard memory drops to 58MB.
Both the cameras come with a 2.5-inch LCD with 100% LCD screen field of view. The new direct display brightness adjustment option prevents the need to access the menu to make adjustments to the screen’s brightness. A 16:9 shooting mode means you can shoot wide-screen images for playback on a wide-screen TV. Connectivity options include high speed USB 2.0 and PictBridge. You can hook up a Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo for external storage.
The Sony CyberShot W100 will be available throughout Europe from the middle of April, and CyberShot W70 from the beginning of May 2006.

A great range of optional accessories are also available for both cameras, such as a durable black leather carry case (LCS-CSG), spare LITHIUM-ION Type G rechargeable battery (NP-BG1), a variety of dedicated filters and high grade lenses, and for the Cyber-shot W70 a smart underwater Sports Housing that you can use up to 3m underwater (SPK-WA).
