Come IDF Fall 2006 and Zinc Matrix Power will be there with a new rechargeable battery for portable devices. With traditional Li-ion batteries taking a beating (ever wonder why several laptops were recalled over the last few days?) silver-zinc rechargeable battery technology is promising, at least according to ZMP.

Containing no lithium or flammable liquids, the silver-zinc batteries are free from thermal runaway, fire and danger of explosion. Because these batteries can be recycled, they are also environment-friendly.
