segway-i2_x2.jpgAs we announced last week, Segway i2 and x2 got the FCC nod and today they have officially launched both products with cool photos and new specifications.

One of those new features that both personal transporters have is the LeanSteer technology - the frame and handlebar give the opportunity to tilt left and right, making it easy to turn wherever you want, just lean to the desired side and the i2/x2 will follow your moves. Another fresh modification is the inclusion of a wireless infokey controller which acts as a monitor providing information about the battery level, speed, distance and also has security measures. The Saphion lithium-ion batteries are also a recent addition, they give better performance in terms of range - with a fully charged saphion battery the i2 PT can reach up to 24 miles (38km) and the other model x2 is a bit lower with 12 miles (19 km), of course that this all depends on other stuff such as the way you ride, how much you weight, etc. Other good thing about these kind of batteries is the temperature level that they are able to work with, you might be in Alaska and with drastic and very low temperature as 14° F / -10° C, but the battery will still work. About the speed - it can be adjustable with the Infokey controller, in case you want to give your kid the pleasure of using the segway it's better if you set it up to the beginner mode in which the maximum speed is 6 mph / 9.6 km/h, on regular mode it can go to 12.5 mph / 20 km/h.

In terms of price the i2 costs $5000 and it's available at this time on these shops, while the x2 will only be for sale on September.
