The website Mobiledia did a review of the ultra-thin Sanyo Katana and like the phone for its ultra slim ergonomics, its rich multimedia features including two cameras and Bluetooth capabilities. However the phone may have two cameras but both of them are VGA. The audio capabilities of the handset are also not very impressive.
The Sanyo Katana is a highly elegant and slim handset which has shades of the Motorola razr when it comes to form factor. The phone sports a 1.3 x 1.8-inch main color display with 65K colors and also includes two VGA cameras, Handsfree operation with the built-in speakerphone or 2.5 mm Universal Jack Adapter, Global Positioning System (GPS) chip and Bluetooth capabilities.
The review ends by saying “Sanyo has a reputation for excellent reception, and the Katana is no different. Providing dual-band analog and digital frequencies, calls come in loud and clear provided the internal
antenna built into the lower lip is unobstructed. The application set is fundamental at best, but BREW
allows users to add and remove mobile applications, and the integration of various email and chat
applications ensures consumers will never be far from sending a greeting. For consumers looking for
multimedia on the go, the Samsung A900 may be a better option. However for consumers who want an aesthetically appealing device but don't need all the extras (and extra fees), the Sanyo Katana is
an affordable alternative with the looks of a much more expensive deviceâ€.
