For the uninitiated, the Sanyo M1 has the privilege of being Sprint's first phone with 1GB of internal memory which also translates into upto 18 hours of music-playing time. Looks like Sanyo is hoping for us to ditch our MP3 Players and the M1 in conjunction with Sprint Music StoreSM, lets one browse and wirelessly download full-length songs directly to their phone.
Sprint is not taking any chances when it comes to the entertainment aspect of the Sanyo M1 phone. Apart from it being capable of downloading songs, the handset can also access 50 channels of television and on-demand video/ audio including more than 20 channels offering live content through Sprint TVSM. One is also privy to services like the NFL Mobile for accessing same-day video highlights, customizable real-time statistics, scores etc and Sprint Movies, the first “pay-per-view†service for mobile phones in the U.S. that streams full-length movie.
The Sanyo M1 is equipped with a 2.0 megapixel camera with auto-focus and also a large external LCD for optimal usability. One also comes across the now mandatory Bluetooth wireless technology and nine equalizer settings for an enhanced music experience. Since it has been marketed as a "music phone", you will find nifty features like; advanced power management which offers up to 18 hours of continuous music-playing time and background music mode for listening to music while checking e-mail, surfing the Web or sending text messages.
