Sanyo today announced that two new digital cameras announced last month in Japan, will be coming to the USA, they are called the Sanyo Xacti C6 and Sanyo Xacti C40, they are capable of superior quality MPEG4 video and hi-res still images. The Xacti C6 is the world's smallest digital video camera, and the C40 is a sleek, affordable solution ideal for home use. Both will be available in January 2006.

Sanyo Xacti C6
The Xacti C6 is claimed to be the world's thinnest, smallest and lightest DV camera. You can take up to 6 megapixel digital still pictures with it, while MPEG4 video can be shot at 60 fps for direct TV video playback.
Offering a highly ergonomic single-hand grip, some of the new and improved features include:
Newly developed low-noise CCD sensor for clear pictures
9-pixel mixture technology for better low-light response
For steady video recording, the C6 implements a digital image stabilizer that reduces camera shake. The included motion detection technology allows the C6 to achieve 60 fps TV output for a much smoother playback on your TV. Storage is on SD cards.
Priced at US $599, the Xacti C6 is slated for a Jan 2006 release in the US. sanyo.com
