
Today we are having a bit of a look at the Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1 Camcorder, lets look at the Pro's and Con's first.
Pros:Cool design, compact, great for the average user once he gets the hang of it, decent image quality.
Cons:Underperformance in low light conditions, visible image noise at times and cumbersome menu.
The Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1 Digital Camcorder is hard to ignore. With the coveted tag of 'World's Smallest HD Camera' and a capacity of recording 720p High Definition video and taking 5.1 mega pixels still shots this baby means business. It can also be called a hybrid camera and features a 1/2.5 inch CCD, with approximately 5.36 gross mega pixels and records HD with 1280 x 720 pixels, at a frame rate of 30 frames per second (fps) at a maximum data rate of 9 Megabits per second (Mbps). The HD Video camera is also capable of recording n 640 x 480 standard definitions (SD) at 60 fps interlaced, with a maximum data rate of 6Mbps.

Sanyo announced their new digital movie camera, the Xacti VPC-C40, in a stylish and highly ergonimic design. At just 152 grams, you can hold the camera in one hand without straining your wrist.
The Xacti VPC-C40 has a 1/2.7" 4.0 megapixel camera, enabling you to capture either VGA-size video clips or hi-res 4.0 megapixel digital photos. Video can be recorded at 30 fps in MPEG-4 format, which can then be played back even on a large-screen TV without the loss of clarity. The package comes with a 1GB SD card, sufficient for just about an hour's worth of video in TV-HQ mode.
Another neat feature of the Xacti VPC-C40 is the 5.8x optical zoom (F5.3) lens, apart from 10x digital zoom. It's also equipped with a small 1.8" TFT LCD display for previewing images/video. It also supports USB PictBridge for PC-independent printing of images.

Sanyo is introducing an upgrade to their Xacti C5 digital camcorder called the Sanyo Xacti C6. The C6 is one of the world's thinnest, smallest, and lightest digital camcorders that has at least a megapixel resolution and a optical zoom lens. It's designed for one hand grip operations and is available in three different colors (red, gold, and black).
The Xacti C6 can take 6 megapixel digital stills and record video into MPEG4 format. If you had a 2GB SD card, you could record VGA resolution video at 30fps for up to 2hours. It has 5x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom for up to 60x maximum zoom. The C6 can easily be operated using your thumb.
