sandisksdhc.jpgSanDisk announced its new 4GB SD High Capacity card which could store more than 2,000 high-resolution pictures, 1,000 digital songs or up to 8 hours of MPEG 4 video. It will be launched together with MicroMate USB 2.0 card reader at no extra charge. The reason that a card reader is being bundled with the new card is that the new 4-Gbyte card is SD 2.0-compliant, a new standard that is not backwards-compatible with traditional SD cards. The SanDisk SDHC card is rated Class 2 for speed and performance which is based on SD 2.00 specification. It is also built to last, with an operating shock rating of 2,000Gs, equivalent to a ten-foot drop. It will be available in the market from this month with the suggested price of USD199.
